Call for Papers: International Conference, University of Beira Interior, Portugal
CALL FOR PAPERS: To commemorate Richard Wright’s Centennial, the Department of Letters at the University of Beira Interior, Portugal will host an international conference on 28 November 2008. The editorial board is asking all those interested in participating as speakers to send an email to pmesquita@ubi.pt as soon as possible. 250-word abstracts must to be submitted by 15 July 2008, to the same email address. The invited keynote speaker is Professor Maria Isabel Caldeira, renowned Afro-American literature specialist from the University of Coimbra. The Department encourages diversified approaches to Wright’s work (fiction and poetry) and life. Completed papers must be sent to the same email address by 15 September 2008. The conference proceedings will be published by the University Press of Beira Interior.
